The
evening has arrived on a journey through the dessert between Saudi
Arabia and Oman. It is the time of Ramadan, so eating and drinking is
only allowed after sunset and after the evening prayers.
The call to prayer is announced on the car radio and my driver stops at
the next roadhouse. After his prayer he returns, bringing two bottles
of cold water and bread with him.
He shares the water and bread with me whilst haveing a quiet pleasant conversation.
The
traditional Sultanate of Oman offers travelers the way in an Arab
world, away from all prejudices and stereotypes, a world where
hospitality is a living tradition of great value.
